Frequently Asked Questions

Chiropractors assess and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions affecting the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system. Common reasons people seek chiropractic care include back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, joint stiffness, sports injuries, work-related injuries, and mobility limitations. We also help patients improve movement, recover from injury, and reduce the risk of future problems through exercise and rehabilitation.

Your initial appointment includes a thorough health history, movement assessment, orthopedic and neurological testing (when appropriate), and a discussion about your goals. We'll explain our findings, answer your questions, and develop a personalized treatment plan. If treatment is appropriate, it may also be provided during your first visit.

Most chiropractic adjustments are gentle and well tolerated. Some patients experience immediate relief, while others may notice mild soreness afterward, similar to what you might feel after exercising. Every adjustment is tailored to your comfort level, and we will always explain the treatment before performing it.

Not at all. Chiropractic care involves much more than spinal adjustments. If an adjustment isn't appropriate or you prefer not to receive one, we can use other treatment options such as assisted stretching, soft tissue therapy, IASTM, dynamic cupping, mobility work, and exercise rehabilitation. Your care is always tailored to your preferences and clinical needs.

The number of visits depends on your condition, goals, lifestyle, and how long you've been experiencing symptoms. Some patients improve within a few visits, while others recovering from more complex injuries may benefit from a longer rehabilitation plan. We'll discuss realistic expectations and work with you to develop a treatment schedule that fits your goals.

Comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily is recommended. Athletic wear, shorts, leggings, and T-shirts are ideal, especially if your assessment or treatment includes movement testing or exercise rehabilitation.

Yes! Exercise is one of the most effective tools for long-term recovery and injury prevention. When appropriate, you'll receive individualized exercises designed to improve strength, mobility, flexibility, and movement quality between visits.

Yes. In addition to treating pain and injury, chiropractic care can help improve joint mobility, movement patterns, strength, and flexibility. By addressing these underlying factors, we aim to reduce the likelihood of future injuries and help you continue doing the activities you enjoy.

No referral is required. You can book an appointment directly without seeing your family physician first. If your condition requires additional medical evaluation or co-management with another healthcare provider, we'll help guide you toward the appropriate next steps.
